 Personal Statement:

Experienced, professional and discreet, I have been working in private homes since the mid-1980s.  Having served in a great variety of household positions, I love living up to the challenges of being an Estate Manager, especially supervising a large staff and managing multiple properties.

Born the third child of six to an Irish-descent mother and Italian-descent father, I grew up the in Detroit, Michigan area. While not married myself, I appreciate the value of family, enjoying a close relationship with my parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters.

I was drawn to private service very early in my career, becoming a Household Manager for a doctor in Michigan in 1983 at the age of 24.  In service, I found a real satisfaction for helping others, keeping their homes and lives organized and running smoothly.  At 36, I accepted a position in Dallas, taking on a 28,000 square foot home and assisting with a major construction project.  Realizing the potential of an Estate Management career, I then attended Starkey International in 1997, preparing me to handle large and complex households.

My management style is much like my service culture.  I lead the staff by example, not by intimidation.  This is not to be confused with being friends with the staff; it has to do with boundaries.  With strong boundaries and clear-cut expectations, a staff can live up to the highest standards.

I have hands-on experience with everything from valet services to automobile maintenance, making me especially skilled in training the staff. My top three Service Standards are Maintenance including my experience with the maintenance demands of a large 25,000 square foot home led to the foresight in planning routine services and in working with a variety of vendors.  Entertaining with my experience in formal service, I can plan, coordinate and execute any size event or dinner, both formal and informal, and Administrative Skills including the management of multiple staff, following a budget, smart homes technology, collectibles, managing vendors, Quicken, and many of the available calendars and communication technologies in support of my employer.

I am good at what I do.  My style is direct, but I can see things from someone else’s point of view.  My style of service is efficient, with integrity.  By being able to appreciate my principals’ perspective, I am able to not only set the standard for the household, but make sure it is being met.
